Meet Ishkara Heqwabti & Iymaani Abdul-Hamid
Ishkara Heqwabti, Certified Sound Healer, and Kemetic yoga instructor Ishkara is a New York-based musician, certified sound healer, Kemetic yoga instructor, and Berklee College of Music graduate. She is the founder of The Inner Ish, a wellness brand dedicated to creating sacred spaces for healing and transformation through sound.Rooted in ancestral wisdom and indigenous teachings, her work blends ethereal sound baths, voice, and ancient instruments to restore balance and awaken the spirit. Guided by intuition and deep sensitivity, Ishkara’s offerings invite a profound reconnection with the heart, the Earth, and the divine.
Iymaani Abdul-Hamid, is a violist, educator, and arts leader committed to expanding access to string music and redefining its cultural impact. As the Founder and Executive/Artistic Director of IAH Studio, she has built a space that empowers BIPOC musicians and cultivates artistic excellence in underrepresented communities.Her performances span Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Apollo Theater, and Barclays Center, as well as national television alongside renowned artists. Beyond the stage, Iymaani’s work is deeply influenced by her Caribbean heritage, exploring the connections between music, culture, and holistic wellness through an Afro-diasporic lens. She creates spaces where music serves as a vehicle for healing, connection, and cultural reclamation—honoring ancestral traditions while shaping the future of string music.
